Midspan provides SME features to Power over Ethernet technology
With no power management or setup required, Phihong's solutions address the issues of cost and accessibility, while still detecting and protecting IEEE802.3af PoE products. The PoE solutions are ideal for VoIP applications and can significantly lower set-up time and costs when installing IP phones.
'We design, manufacture and sell our own high volume power products, so pricing isn't driven up to cover the expenses of several companies involved throughout the design and manufacture process', said Keith Hopwood, Vice President of Marketing for Phihong USA.
'Because of this, our full line of PoE solutions requires a much lower initial outlay than other products on the market, so PoE and VoIP systems are even more affordable'.
PoE is a more cost efficient solution for powering VoIP, particularly in terms of initial investment.

As a single point of backup, PoE eliminates the need for desktop backup power.
No complex redesign of offices or electrical systems is necessary for installation, so there are no costly electrician bills or time-consuming renovations.
PoE also works with legacy equipment so businesses don't need to purchase new devices on which to run the new phone system.
Phihong's line of PoE for VoIP products includes single- and multiport midspan injectors up to 24 ports, which power Cisco 79 Series phones with prestandard PoE detection without any additional line swapping or detection modules.
Also included in Phihong's PoE line are DIMM power modules for 8 to 48 ports, splitters, and power supplies with integrated PoE.
Power-over-Ethernet allows both power and data to be carried over a single Ethernet cable, enabling a device to operate entirely from the power it receives through the data cable.
This eliminates the need for additional wall outlets, so phones can be moved around offices without costly and time-consuming rewiring.
Phihong is offering its PoE products at almost half the cost of similar products on the market.
