The GX series of broadband surge protectors enable the operating voltage of a 3G basestation tower mounted amplifiers to pass, while blocking lightning surges of up to 20kA.
3G basestations frequently use tower mounted amplifiers (TMAs) to improve cell coverage, and protecting the sensitive inputs to these devices against lightning surges has been a common problem, due to the voltage needed to power the amplifier generally being fed through the antenna coax with the signal The GX series of broadband surge protectors enable the operating voltage of the TMA (6, 15, 24, 36, 48 or 60V DC) to pass, while blocking lightning surges of up to 20kA (8/20us waveform)
