Monitor aids antarctic transmissions
The Pixelmetrix DVStation is helping Japan Telecom's high-definition transmission service from the South Pole
Japan Telecom's image transmission service provides real time audio and video transmission to Japan from around the world using a global international transmission network. The network uses multiple communications satellites and high-speed underwater optical cables. Starting in February, NHK launched a year-long project called 2003 TV New Age which celebrates the 50th anniversary of television broadcasting in Japan.
