Prysmian Cables and Systems will be playing a major role at this week's Annual Conference of the FTTH Council Europe in Barcelona (7th and 8th February 2007)

More than 1000 people are expected to attend this key event in the European telecomms calendar which will focus on the latest trends and developments concerning FTTH (fibre to the home) in the European telecoms sector. Prysmian, as a main sponsor of the event, will be exhibiting the latest additions to its growing FTTH product portfolio including Quickdraw, its innovative preconnectorised customer lead in cable system.

Other products on display will include Headrow - the unique micro trench cable system, produced at Prysmian's nearby optical cable facility in Vilanova.

In addition Prysmian will contribute to the conference proceedings with a paper providing an overview of the passive cable and connectivity technologies available in today's growing FTTH marketplace.

'FTTH Council Europe is playing a major role in driving the uptake of optical technology in access networks in Europe today', commented Giovanni Battista Scotti, Director of Prysmian's Global Telecom Cable and Fibre Optic Business.

'We are delighted to provide our support to their ongoing efforts in championing this technology and believe that 2007 will be a milestone year for FTTH in Europe'.
