A novel range of flat speakers aims to solve many of the problems encountered with conventional devices.

Phoenix Electronics has a novel range of flat speakers from Sonitron that could solve many of the problems encountered with conventional devices The new product is based on a completely new principle of piezoceramic and composite metal/polymer layers which gives many advantages over previous designs

Frequency response is much better, efficiency is improved, distortion is lower and energy consumption is reduced.

In addition the front of the speaker is resistant to water, dust, shock and vibrations and does not create any electromagnetic field making it easier for designers to comply with EMC requirements.

These advantages, combined with the robust construction, means that the product will find applications in a wide range of products such as mobile phones, car navigation, video intercom, multimedia car applications and many others.

The product is offered in three sizes and three frequency ranges.

A headphone speaker version is also available weighing only 2.1g and giving full frequency output.
