PolarFab has achieved certification to the ISO/TS16949:2002 international quality standard on its first assessment.
ISO/TS16949:2002 aligns existing US, German, French and Italian automotive quality system standards within the global automotive industry.
The ISO9001:2000-based standard specifies the quality system requirements for the design, development, production, installation and servicing of automotive-related products.
It was written to simplify multiple national standards for suppliers of products to this market by providing a single quality standard with strict requirements.
Manufacturers that achieve certification typically realise continuous business and manufacturing improvements such as: reduction of waste and product failures; lower costs and cycle times; improved supply chain management; better time and resource utilisation; increased product and service consistency and traceability; and enhanced customer satisfaction.

In order to achieve ISO/TS16949:2002 certification, PolarFab built on its existing quality system implemented for ISO9001:2000 certification, which it achieved in 2003.
