picoChip is one to watch
picoChip has been chosen as one of the top three companies in the Real Business/O2 '50 to watch in mobile' report
An elite panel of judges reviewed over 200 firms in the wireless and mobile arena, ranging from technology businesses like picoChip to service providers and retailers, to come up with a definitive list of the British companies driving the mobile revolution. picoChip is the only semiconductor company focusing on wireless infrastructure, where it is the industry standard for WiMAX and has enabled the concept of femtocell (3G home access points).

'We are delighted to be ranked so highly in a report that includes very many exceptional and growing concerns', said Guillaume d'Eyssautier, President and CEO of picoChip.
'The strength and depth of this list illustrates the potential for wireless services, now and in the years to come: we're flattered to know that the judges believe, as we do, that picoChip can play a key role in enabling those services'.
Colin Orton-Jones, Deputy Editor of Real Business, added: 'picoChip is a really inspiring company and shows how British technology can lead the world'.
'Following the explosive growth of fabless pioneer Cambridge Silicon Radio (zero turnover to $486 million in seven years), we see similar possibilities for picoChip'.
The judging panel consisted of: Mike Short, Chair of the Mobile Data Association; Eden Zoller, Principal Analyst at Ovum; Ken Blakeslee, Chair of WebMobility Ventures; Christina Domecq, founder of SpinVox; and Mark Stansfeld, Sales Director of O2.
