Omron has opened a new regional office in Bratislava, Slovakia, following significant growth of its components business in Eastern European markets

The company is also expanding into Russia and Russian speaking territories with the opening of a new office in Moscow. The new Bratislava office will build on the success of Omron's existing emerging markets activity by enhancing local presence and providing more direct support for customers.

It will be formally opened by Omron's Electronic Components President Steve Yukawa on 18th April 2005.

'Bratislava, capital of the Slovak Republic, is the ideal location for Omron in terms of its central geographic position, good connectivity by air and roads, as well as its well-educated and skilled workforce', commented Dr Miroslav Trifunovic, General Manager, Corporate Planning and Business Development, Omron Electronic Components Europe.

Supervised by Dr Trifunovic, Omron's new Sales Division Manager - Bratislava, Sinisa Pljevljakusic, will head up a young and enthusiastic team of five, carefully selected for their components expertise, understanding of local indigenous industries and familiarity with Slovak society and culture.

This knowledge and experience will help Omron to build strong and lasting relationships with customers and partners in the region.

'Omron has previously supported Eastern European customers through local representatives', said Pljevljakusic.

'Our new local operation will be dedicated to providing direct support for local customers and we expect to see increased levels of customer satisfaction as a result of improved customer relations activity'.

Pljevljakusic has six years experience within Omron having worked as a Sales Manager for the Industrial Automation Business where he was dedicated to business development in the former Soviet Union republics, South-East Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Pljevljakusic brings with him considerable experience in developing sales networks in Eastern European countries, as well as extensive relationships with key personnel in local industries in the emerging markets area. Request free introductory details about products from Omron Electronics....
