Ultrasmall surface-mount detection switch is ideal for miniaturised and lightweight applications
An extended range of optoswitches with 50-100mA switchingcapacity is now available from Omron. The company'sEE-SX67/47 range of sensors has been expanded to include new PNPoutput models, complementing the existing NPN output versions, which are the world's best-selling optoswitch with built-inpreamplifier.
Easy-to-use, these optoswitches are compact andcome in a range of five sensing-slot configurations ensuringsimple installation in machinery or equipment.
As well as thestandard shaped version, there are L-shaped and T-shapedvariants, plus two types of close-mounting sensor - all with 5mmslot width and 9mm height.
Designed for connector or solderedelectrical connection, these optoswitches are readily mountedusing standard M3 screws.

The new models bring the total numberof output variations to 30, including light-on anddark-on/light-on (selectable) models.
The devices' brightred indicator lights provide further options.
Designers canchoose between illuminating when sensor light is interrupted, orwhen the slot is clear so light is being received normally.Response frequencies are as high as 1kHz for precision controlapplications, and electrical capabilities extend to theunit's wide operating voltage range of 5 to 24V DC.
As withOmron's existing NPN optoswitches, all new models benefitfrom UL, cUL and CE certification, the former covering industrialcontrol devices and the latter demonstrating adherence to EMCrequirements.
The devices operate from -25 to +55C and areprotected against dust and moisture ingress to IP50 standards. Request a free brochure from Omron Electronics....
