Omron's new family of FPC connectors features the industry's smallest footprint, combined with a very space-efficient design and an advanced slider mechanism

Omron's XF2L series of FPC connectors occupy just 18.9 x 3.5mm for 30 pins, giving them the smallest onboard area in the industry. The innovative design of Omron's new connectors ensures that the base of the connector sits flush with the board, so that the connector footprint can be used to route tracks if required.

Some competing designs achieve a low profile by having part of the connector protrude down into the board itself.

The XF2L achieves a profile of only 1.2mm, which is exceptionally low, without the need for drilling or gouging of the PCB.

Connection is secure, stable and reliable, thanks to the XF2L's advanced slider construction.

This features a guide to restrict up and down movements, and a slider hold to fix the guide securely.

The rear of the slider guide, which restricts play when opening and closing the slider, is shaped to generate a click when the slider is opened, yet ensures smooth operation.

The slider can be locked to prevent disconnection.

The XF2L series is available in upper or lower contact types 4 to 30 poles, all specified for 0.5A rated current at 50V DC.

All connectors in the family are designed to 20 insertions, can withstand 250V AC for 1min and operate over the extended -30 to +85C temperature range.

Solderable hold-downs improve board retention of the connector, without requiring drilling of the PCB. Request a free brochure from Omron Electronics....
