OKW's Datec-Mobil-Box enclosures are designed for fitting standard liquid crystal displays. These ergonomic handheld cases are ideal for housing both indoor and outdoor mobile electronics. Typical applications will include data-collection units, medical and wellness devices, and test and measurement equipment.

Datec-Mobil-Boxes are offered in three standard types: 152 x 83 x 33, 195 x 101 x 44/59 and 252 x 121 x 50mm.

All types are available with premoulded display window apertures suitable for standard LCD modules: 2 x 16, 4 x 16, 2 x 20, 4 x 20 and 2 x 40 characters.

The cases are moulded in ABS (UL94HB) in off-white, RAL 9002, or black, RAL 9005.

The assembly consists of a top and base part, and a screw-on battery compartment lid.

The battery compartments will accept two or four 1.5V AA cells, or one or two 9V cells, depending on the case type.

For harsher industrial or outdoor applications, Datec-Mobil-Boxes can be sealed to protection class IP65 using the accessory sealing kits.

The top part has a deep recessed area for mounting a membrane keypad or product label.

Screw pillars are provided in the top and base sections for fitting the PCBs.

Accessories included acrylic display windows, tilt foot bars, wall holders and battery contacts.

OKW can supply Datec-Mobil-Boxes with additional holes for pushbuttons, connectors and displays etc, plus silk-screen printed legends and logos, and EMC shielding.

The cases can also be moulded or painted in alternative colours.
