OK International will showcase a range of its soldering products at the Forum de l'Electronique exhibition at the Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles exhibition centre, 30 September to 2 October 2008.

It will display the Metcal MX-5000 Soldering and Rework system for complex assembly challenges.

The MX-5000 combines increased power with Smartheat technology to eliminate overshoot potential and maintain high productivity soldering and rework.

The MX-5000 enables continuous operator feedback to enhance usability and reduce the amount of training needed.

Available configurations will include Metcal's advanced soldering and rework hand-piece and the Metcal MX-PTZ precision tweezers hand-piece for SMD rework.

Also on display will be the MFR-2200 Series Soldering and Rework System for production hand soldering, touch-up and SMD rework.

The MFR-2200 system enables operators to use one or two different hand-pieces at the same time for dual simultaneous output soldering and rework.

The MFR-2200 Series is supported by a range of soldering and rework cartridges and tips, allowing operators to compete effectively across a range of applications.

The PS-900 soldering system has enhanced thermal control and efficient power delivery, maximising throughput while protecting components and materials from thermal damage.

The increase in throughput is reinforced by a range of quick change soldering tips and an Auto-Sleep Workstand to minimise downtime.

Visitors will also be able to see the PCT-1000 Programmable Preheater at the show.

Equipping users with the ability to deliver more heat to difficult boards while maintaining high levels of thermal control and operating temperatures, the PCT-1000 is ideal for high thermal demand applications, including lead-free, multi-layer boards and large ground planes.

The benchtop system delivers forced convection heat that can be controlled with multiple time, temperature and cooling zones.

This additional heat capacity allows operators to use soldering, de-soldering and SMT rework hand tools with lower operating temperatures, avoiding potentially damaging temperature increases.
