The Bluemagic 3.0 evaluation starter kit (ESK) eliminates the need to invest significant time, money, and effort in the initial evaluation phase of Bluetooth wireless technology.
We also intend to expand our Bluetooth market penetration by making the shopping experience hassle-free for customers', said Hiroshi Onaka, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
The Oidirect online store will initially offer two products: the Open Interface Bluemagic 3.0 evaluation starter kit (ESK) and the Frontline Test Equipment FTS for Bluetooth protocol analyser.
The Bluemagic 3.0 ESK, the first of many products planned for the Oidirect online store, provides a robust evaluation environment for developers who wish to evaluate Bluetooth wireless technology for the first time or experts who wish to learn more about Open Interface's Bluemagic 3.0 embedded Bluetooth software.
Developers will also find that the evaluation environment is versatile enough to use for simple application development, shortening development schedules and time to market.

The Bluemagic 3.0 ESK includes the Bluemagic 3.0 evaluation software development kit, which has the most comprehensive profile and protocol support available in the Bluetooth market.
The 25 profiles and optional protocols supported by this package are GAP, SPP, HSP, fax, HFP, DUN, GenOBEX, FTP, OPP, synchronisation, BIP, BPP, TCS binary, intercom, CTP, BNEP, PAN, SDAP, AVCTP, AVRCP, AVDTP, AADP, HID, HCRP, and SAP.
The ESK also provides a pair of pretested USB Bluetooth modules, which can be used to provide Windows XP/200 or Linux PCs with the necessary radio/baseband hardware to use the Bluemagic 3.0 Bluetooth software.
The Bluemagic 3.0 ESK can be purchased for a limited-time introductory price of $139.00 (regular price: $165.00).
The second product offered at the Oidirect online store, the Frontline Test Equipment FTS for Bluetooth protocol analyser, is an affordable, full-featured, multimode tool that can 'sniff' Bluetooth data in three ways: first, through the air; secondly, by tapping the serial HCI interface between a Bluetooth host CPU and a Bluetooth host controller; and thirdly, 'virtually', via the live import feature, which permits any application to feed data into the analyser.
The FTS for Bluetooth protocol analyser is an indispensable tool for Bluetooth development and field test applications because it enables engineers and technicians to identify Bluetooth protocol-related problems as they occur, at any point in the data stream.
FTS for Bluetooth tools significantly reduce the time and effort spent on product development, software debugging, and field troubleshooting.
The full version of the FTS for Bluetooth protocol analyser, capable of four-way sniffing, is available with one-year premium maintenance at $8495 and three-year premium maintenance at $9495.
The FTS for Bluetooth Virtual sniffer, limited to virtual sniffing only, can be purchased at the Oidirect online store for $500.
Additional products will be added to the website on a continual basis.
