The Mini-Snap connector has been developed for power and signal supply within a wide range of commercial, industrial, military and medical equipment and one of its main features is precise and reliable latching, even in hard-to-reach places.
The metal-bodied components are available in eight sizes from 6.5 to 42mm diameter with over 100 different insert patterns and 10 contact types with terminations from 0.05 to 4mm.
The plastic-bodied PC variant is available in sizes 1, 2 and 3 (12, 15 and 19mm) and can offer cost savings of up to 60% over metal-bodied variants.
It also provides an economical solution when changing to this type of connector system in lower-cost equipment.
Medical-specific and available in one size, 14mm in 2-14 ways, the nonmagnetic Medi-Snap can be sterilised or autoclaved.
Six colour codes are available for identification and other advantages include chemical resistance, low mating forces and high mating cycle capability.
A disposable version is also available for one-use medical products.
Several options are offered across the range and, depending on the specific component, can include IP68 level protection instead of the usual standard IP67.
Customer specific designs are also offered with ODU's design and development package.
