Coaxial system accommodates multiple contacts
ODU has added a four-position coaxial module to its ODU-MAC connector system
Furthermore the modules can be frame-mounted in multiples of up to 20 units to provide a total of 80 coaxial contacts in one aluminium frame. The coaxial components have spring-wire contacts, which are capable of more than 100,000 mating cycles with low insertion resistance. These contacts have a number of spring wires inside the socket each contacting the pin surface independently, thus providing multiple contact points.

A 10-position module with stamped 0.76mm diameter pin-type contacts is the latest addition to the ODU-MAC modular connector line
Rating is 50ohm at up to 1GHz.
Where applications dictate the coaxial connector can also be supplied singly or teamed with other components in the ODU-MAC system to provide contacts in one module for a range of services including power, signal, pneumatics and fibre optics.
The system offers a number of standard frames and housings but purpose-designed products can also be created using the ODU-MAC technique.
