Alliance in place for
French digital TV launch
Ocean Blue, a UK specialist in digital TV software, has signed a contract with French technology company, Iwedia, to supply and support Ocean Blue's Voyager software
The contract, worth around GBP 500,000, will allow Iwedia to build interactive TV services into its DVB middleware, and comes in the month that France switches on 'TNT' - a free 14-channel service similar to the UK's Freeview. Mazen Abboud, VP of Sales for Iwedia, stated: 'We believe the expertise, knowledge and software products of Ocean Blue perfectly complement Iwedia's software products and professional services portfolio and reinforce Iwedia's strategy with respect to the UK digital TV market'.

TNT will be available to 35% of the France's households this month, and should be available to 65% of the country by early 2006, and nearly all of France by the end of 2007.
