Nu Horizons Electronics Corp has signed an Americas partnership agreement with Integrated Device Technology, the global leader in semiconductor solutions for advanced network services. This agreement covers the territories of the USA, Canada, Mexico and South America for the distribution of IDT integrated circuits for communications, computing and consumer applications, which include logic devices, timing solutions and static random access memory (SRAM) products. The IDT semiconductor devices are designed for networking equipment to efficiently deliver a variety of products and services for the core, metro, access, enterprise, small office/home office (SOHO) data centre and wireless segments of the network.

Within these markets, IDT delivers solutions for key applications including routers, gateways, L2/L3 switches, storage area networks (SANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), server load balancers and basestation controllers.

IDT serves the communications, computing and consumer equipment vendors by applying advanced hardware, software and memory technologies to create flexible and highly integrated products that enhance the functionality and processing of network equipment.

In September, IDT merged with integrated circuit Systems (ICS), a leader in timing solutions.

Nu Horizons is a 15-year partner of ICS and will continue to distribute their communications, SAW filter, silicon timing and video/graphic devices, as well as the recently acquired Freescale Semiconductor's timing solutions product portfolio.

'We are very pleased to become an IDT distributor'.

'Their industry-leading products offer a broad range of vital solutions in advanced timing, switching, buffering, and packet-processing technologies', said Dave Bowers, President of Nu Horizons Distribution Division.

'IDT's success in the communications market provides advanced network solutions to meet the challenges of today's system designs'.

'The combination of IDT and ICS further strengthens our silicon-timing family offering to deliver superior solutions for our customers'.

'Nu Horizons is a leading distributor with a track record for excellence in customer service, technical support and global logistics', adds Julian Hawkins, Vice President World Wide Sales for IDT.

'With their focus on demand creation, we expect our partnership to increase IDT's presence across numerous applications and markets'.

'Building on Nu Horizons successful ICS relationship, we look forward to utilising their technical sales, engineering and solutions expertise to promote our product lines to a broader spectrum of customers'.
