Mensah joins Electronics Interconnection Group
The Electronics Interconnection Group at National Physical Laboratory has been further strengthened with the appointment of Angela Mensah
Mensah's extensive background in corrosion will be invaluable to current and planned programmes on studying the performance of conformal coatings in corrosion protection of electronics assemblies. The main aims of these programmes include the identification of potential protection mechanisms in conformal coated assemblies, assertion of the levels of protection offered by a range of materials, generation of reliable test procedures to measure the degradation effects on electronic assemblies in aggressive environments and the contribution to more effective standards for engineers designing and specifying these products.

Mensah has a BSc in chemistry from Birkbeck College, University of London, and worked for two years as a chemical process leader with Phillips Printed Circuits in Croydon, Surrey.
She then joined the Aqueous Corrosion Group in the NPL as a research scientist in January 2001.
With her main areas of interest in conformal coatings in corrosion protection of electronics assemblies, electrochemistry of new lead-free alloys, SIR and SERA measurements she will be a valuable asset to Chris Hunt's team.
