Cabling systems exceed industry standards: News from Belden CDT

Three new fully optimised Belden IBDN copper structured cabling systems are categorised by the applicable TIA/EIA category standard, along with each system's bandwidth and datarate capacity. The Belden IBDN System 1200 exceeds TIA/EIA Category 5e standards. It supports high-speed (1.2Gbit/s) network applications such as Gigabit Ethernet, plus it provides clear bandwidth up to 160MHz - an increase of 60% over the Cat5e standard of 100MHz.

System components include: DataTwist 350 bonded-pair UTP cables or GigaFlex 1200 unbonded-pair UTP cables, GigaBIX and 110 crossconnect systems, PS5E patch panels (including high density and modular versions) and related patch cords, outlets, modules, faceplates and adapters.

The Belden IBDN System 2400 exceeds TIA/EIA Category 6 standards.

It supports high-speed (2.4Gbit/s) network applications such as gigabit Ethernet and delivers 250MHz - a 25% increase over the 200MHz bandwidth of typical Cat6-compliant channels.

System components include: MediaTwist bonded-pair UTP cables or GigaFlex 2400 unbonded-pair UTP cables, GigaBIX crossconnect hardware, GigaFlex PS6+ and Flex patch panels and related patch cords, outlets, modules, faceplates and adapters.

The Belden IBDN System 4800LX offers performance beyond Cat6 for the utmost in signal reliability.

This enhanced Cat6 system supports the most demanding, ultra-high-speed and multigigabit protocols and was the industry's first 300MHz system, far exceeding all TIA/EIA specifications.

System components include: DataTwist 600e bonded-pair UTP cables or GigaFlex 4800 unbonded-pair UTP cables, GigaBIX crossconnect hardware, GigaFlex PS6+ and Flex patch panels and related patchcords, outlets, modules, faceplates and adapters.
