NORDX/CDT and iTracs Corp have formed a strategic partnership combining a technology licence and distribution agreement

NORDX/CDT will license, manufacture, market and distribute iTracs intelligent structured cabling management systems. This includes iTracs enabled or compatible NORDX/CDT hardware consisting of patch panels, cords and iTracs Analyser active monitoring equipment. The iTracs software monitors the hardware to self-discover the network topology in data centres, communications rooms and wiring closets; automatically detects both authorised and unauthorised changes; uses patent-pending technology to quickly pinpoint wiring trouble spots; alerts IT staff to problems via alarms, e-mails, pages, user-defined scripts and/or photos; and issues work orders or trouble tickets to initiate corrective action.

All iTracs circuitry is isolated from the network, ensuring that the system does not impact data flow or network performance.

"The impact of LANs on enterprises is growing year after year; the emergence of applications such as IP telephony make these LANs simply mission critical", explains Marc Laporte, Sales and Marketing Vice-President for NORDX/CDT.

"Recognising these technology shifts, NORDX/CDT has decided to complement its IBDN product line with an automated cable management system that provides a complete standards based solution as well as a retrofit capability to the market.

At NORDX/CDT, we are excited to be associated with iTracs Corporation, a world leader in cable management systems".

Tom Reedy, CEO and President of iTracs Corp, adds, "This alliance with NORDX/CDT is an important market validation of our technology that gives us access to a key customer base along with a targeted sales and distribution channel.

Increasingly, we are finding demand for real-time network monitoring in financial services, government and education, as well as general business.

Our solution in particular provides a level of additional physical security as well as increasing network uptime, IT staff efficiency and end user productivity".

The solution benefits customers building new facilities as well as end-users who want to add an intelligent network management capability to existing installations.

NORDX/CDT will market and support the hardware (including patch cords and patch panels, as well as active monitoring equipment) required by the solution; iTracs will market and support the software.
