NORDX/CDT has added a new generation of optical fibre cables to its IBDN product range

This addition is part of the OM3 family of cables and is designed in order to answer the growing demand for 10Gbit Ethernet applications. Confirming NORDX/CDT's commitment to the European marketplace, these cables are manufactured locally, which will in turn improves the company's efficiency.

As part of NORDX/CDT's philosophy to be a world leader in the manufacture of end-to-end structured cabling systems, this development will improve its delivery schedules and its levels of customer service.

All stages of the production of the OM3 cable are monitored, and every fibre is tested to recognised international fibre standards and in full accordance with ISO9001:2000.

"The key element of our new fibre range is the efficiency of the manufacturing process, together with using the latest fibre technology", explains Graham Boret, NORDX/CDT's Operations Director.

"The major consideration when designing and installing a new installation is to ensure that the system is future proofed.

OM3 fibre ensures the most cost effective upgrade path for 10Gbit Ethernet.

The advancement in electronics, and the cost reductions that are currently being seen, will certainly enable 10Gbit to be a viable option, and we can clearly see 1Gbit being required to the desk.

It is inevitable that 10Gbit will be required in the backbone, and NORDX/CDT have the solution today".

This new 10Gbit Ethernet cable is another example of NORDX/CDT's goal to continue to provide technologically advanced products and state-of-the-art cabling systems and to lead the industry in cable design and manufacturing.
