Nanotron Technologies has appointed Dr Jens N Albers as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Together with Chief Technology Officer Zbigniew Ianelli, Dr Albers will handle the market launch of the new wireless network Nanonet and will push the development of new products based on Nanotron's patented Chirp technology.
"There are only a few companies in Europe with Nanotron's potential - in terms of technology as well as business", says Dr Albers on the occasion of his appointment.
"The global wireless market is booming and Nanotron has developed a groundbreaking technology".
"The company's first products have been developed based on this innovation".
"Together with its world-class team, I want to realise this huge potential".
"The first step is the market launch of Nanonet, which is available in samples since a few months and will become available in mass production in the second quarter of 2005".
"The positive feedback of our customers proves that the market has been waiting for this product".
"Dr Jens Albers is the perfect choice as new CEO of Nanotron", says Prof Michael Schefczyk, Chairman of Nanotron's advisory board.
"Dr Albers is not only an outstanding expert for IC design and communication technology, but he has also succeeded as an entrepreneur in marketing high tech products, and has also managed a successful IPO at NASDAQ".
Dr Albers gained experience in the communications business as cofounder, Executive Vice President and cochairman of the board of Multilink Technology Corp (Somerset, New Jersey), a company that developed chips and modules for fibre-based data transmission.
In 2001, he supported Multilink's successful IPO and listing on NASDAQ.
Dr Albers gained his PhD in electrotechnical engineering at the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany.
