Mics Platinum is the latest breakthrough in multiplexer/demultiplexer technology for DWDM network systems that reduces design and operational costs in next-generation network systems. NetTest will demonstrate the Mics Platinum at ECOC 2002 next week in Copenhagen. Building on the successful and proven Mics product line of mux/demuxes, Mics Platinum is designed using bulk-grating technology for which NetTest is a well-known industry leader.

It is the only completely athermal mux/demux that features an extremely low insertion loss (2.5dB for Gaussian option and 4.5dB for FlatTop option) and an excellent insertion loss uniformity (1dB for 16 channels and 1.5dB for 40 channels).

"With the launch of Mics Platinum, produced specially for easy integration into DWDM systems, NetTest strengthens its position as the leading manufacturer of athermal mux/demux for large channel count networks", said Laurent Begin, director of product marketing.

"Our customers are demanding this specific technology as they prepare their systems for next-generation networks, and NetTest is happy to be able to provide them with the most effective cost-saving solution".

With improved athermal design, no temperature regulation is required over the whole operating temperature range of -5 to +70C, reducing design and operational costs in large channel count systems.

In addition, Mics Platinum's athermal operation - combined with reduced thickness and adapted footprint of the packaging - make the integration with systems extremely simple.

Mics Platinum is part of the Mics product line that has been successfully tested against the Telcordia optical components industry standards (Telcordia GR-1209-Core and Telcordia GR-1221-Core).

Mics Platinum is available with a FlatTop or Gaussian option.

Mics Platinum is available for immediate delivery.
