NeoPhotonics has shipped 1 million bidirectional (bi-di) transceivers for FTTH applications, primarily for networks in Japan. The company will confirm this milestone at the Fiber Optic Expo (FOE) in Tokyo, where the company is exhibiting its product line of bi-di transceivers and other products in Booth 40017 from 18th to 20th January 2006. 'The fact that we shipped over 1 million bidirectional transceivers in the last two years indicates the high quality and reliability of our product line', said Zhangyong Huang, President of NeoPhotonics China (formerly Photon Technology Co).
'Bi-di transceivers that operate over a single strand of fibre are key to reducing capital and operating expenditures in FTTH deployments'.
'The single fibre concept reduces system cost, doubles capacity and simplifies network design and fibre management'.
'Bidirectional transceivers are a cornerstone of our growing product portfolio for the booming FTTH market', said Chris Pfistner, Director, Global Access Business at NeoPhotonics.
'We are building on our success in bi-di transceivers by rapidly expanding our FTTH market share in other segments such as triplexer modules, with integrated analogue video receivers, and passive components, such as PLC splitter packages and modules'.
'This provides our customers with complete optical solutions for fibre based access networks'.
Visitors to the NeoPhotonics booth at FOE will see a portfolio of bi-di optical subassemblies and transceivers for Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, G-EPON and BPON.
The company is also exhibiting different versions of triplexer modules with integrated analogue video receivers and its full product line of PLC based 1xN and 2xN optical splitters and splitter modules for indoor and outdoor applications.
Also on display will be NeoPhotonics complete line of active and passive products for metro and long haul fibre networks.
