The International Engineering Consortium has honoured National's Webench Active Filter Designer online tool with its prestigious DesignVision Award.

The International Engineering Consortium (IEC) has honoured National's Webench Active Filter Designer online tool with its prestigious DesignVision Award National won the award in the system-level design tools category, one of nine categories in the IEC's annual awards programme that recognises the technologies, applications, products and services judged to be "the most unique and beneficial" to the electronics industry

"The DesignVision Awards recognise innovative products and services that support the work of electronic design engineers, the core audience at DesignCon", said Dr Barry Sullivan, DesignCon 2006 Programme Director.

"The IEC is pleased to provide this recognition to companies whose products exemplify our standard of service to the industry".

The IEC selected National Semiconductor's Active Filter Designer tool from among dozens of entries.

"This award recognises the collaborative efforts of National's web team and Amplifiers Group to make designers' jobs easier through online tools", said Phil Gibson, National's Vice President of Technical Sales Tools.

"Using the Webench Active Filter Designer, engineers can create highly complex filters quickly using National's wide range of high-performance amplifiers".

"They can go from theory to an active filter evaluation board in minutes".

"Designers may use the Webench Active Filter Designer to develop more than 200,000 customised lowpass filters using any of 180 op amps, including our precision offerings", said Erroll Dietz, Vice President of National Semiconductor's Amplifier Product Group.

"Advanced filter design with accurate responses has never been easier".

This year's awards were judged by a panel of industry experts and presented during a special media reception at the DesignCon 2006 event in Santa Clara, California.
