Training attracts special award
As if winning a National Training Award last week wasn't enough for National Semiconductor, the company has gone a step further by gaining a Special Award at a UK wide ceremony for the second time.

The winners of the Special Awards were described as the companies who will go on to shape the future of training and development in the UK.
Training and Development Manager, Grace Mitchell was delighted to achieve the Special Award.
She said: "We were surrounded by companies across the whole of the UK who have excelled themselves in the training stakes.
For National to come out with one of the top awards was a magnificent achievement.
"The award is recognition for all our employees who have immersed themselves in training over the past year.
This gives us the drive and determination to continue to deliver our training strategy".
Vice President Gerry Edwards added: "Gaining a Special Award in such a competitive category makes me feel incredibly proud of the training strategy we have in place at the plant.
To be singled out and rewarded for our training efforts is testament to the outstanding work of our training department and the hundreds of employees who make the commitment each year to develop their skills".
"We look forward to continuing with our training programme and finding new ways to enhance the development of all our staff".
The awards, run by UK Skills on behalf of the Department for Education and Skills, are the UK's number one accolade for businesses and individuals that have achieved lasting excellence and success through training.
