National licenses power technology
ON Semiconductor has secured a licence from National Semiconductor to produce devices based on National's Super Switcher technology.
National Semiconductor has granted a royalty-bearing licence to Semiconductor Components Industries, the primary domestic operating subsidiary of ON Semiconductor under National's US Patent number 4,847,549 This patent has been implemented in National's LM2574, LM2575, LM2576 and LM2577 Simple Switcher family and other DC/DC convertor products presently in production at National and ON Semiconductor
The LM2574, LM2575, LM2576 and LM2577 Simple Switcher family of products was National's market entrance point for DC/DC convertor products.
This licence reaffirms National's prowess in this challenging power arena, and National is pleased to grant ON Semiconductor a licence for its use with its products.
