Continuing its programme of technical and business forums, The National Microelectronics Institute (NMI) is organising an event focused on the verification challenges in IC design. The event is to be held on the 24th February 2005 and boasts a broad range of views from organisations in industry, academia and EDA. 'We are delighted to announce yet another technical forum to explore the challenges facing semiconductor design today', said Derek Boyd, CEO NMI.

'All our technical forums are engineered to stimulate discussion and provide a platform for collaboration among participating delegates'.

'The UK has a formidable core competency in semiconductor design and strong research base - this provides the motivation for the event'.

The workshop provides a number of perspectives from professionals working in leading edge verification activities.

Janick Bergeron, moderator of the Verification Guild and co-author of the upcoming 'SystemVerilog verification methodology manual', will be featured as a speaker.

Participant organisations include ARC, Broadcom DSL, Infineon, Synopsys, Verisity and the University of Bristol.

The event further provides the opportunity to discuss industry challenges with other professionals.

This Verification Network Forum follows a set of successful workshops during 2004 including low power and analogue and mixed signal design.

NMI technical and business forums are free to members and invited guests.

Interested parties are strongly urged to contact the NMI to learn more of this event and other semiconductor related programmes taking place throughout 2005.
