Magink Display Technologies has entered into a contractual agreement with Lamar Advertising Company, a world leading owner and operator of advertising and logo displays.

Magink Display Technologies, the developer and provider of full colour digital ink displays for use in the out-of-home media market, has entered into a contractual agreement with Lamar Advertising Company, a world leading owner and operator of advertising and logo displays Under the agreement, Magink will provide Lamar with several networks of high resolution, high contrast, full-colour digital ink billboards for deployment in the USA

The networks, as supplied by Magink, will include the billboards' housing and design.

Lamar plans to offer the eco-friendly display space to its advertising customers, while introducing the innovative benefits of digital ink technology to the US market.

"We had planned to enter the US market in 2007 and are very glad to be able to do so in partnership with Lamar", said Ran Poliakine, founder of Magink.

"Lamar has a long history of being at the forefront of digital outdoor technologies and in pushing the envelope to drive innovation".

"Our billboards offer the most environmentally sound alternative to the bright lights and intrusive technologies that are currently on the market".

"They are also energy-efficient, and because digital ink mimics the reflective quality of paper, our billboards comply with existing paper display regulations".

Already in use in both France and the UK, Magink billboards provide exceptional optical performance, superior visibility in sunlight and low power consumption compared with other digital display technologies, such as LEDs.

Magink billboards employ reflective digital ink; combining the best attributes of traditional ink on paper imagery with digital display.

The reflective nature of Magink's digital ink creates a natural look like a traditional paper display, while incorporating the unparalleled flexibility offered by a digital platform.

For advertisers, this allows them to purchase advertising space by day-part and target specific audiences with refreshed content at numerous intervals throughout the day.

"We can think of no better way to introduce Magink's digital ink billboards to the US market than in partnership with Lamar, a company that operates more than 150,000 billboards in virtually every state in the USA", said Don Davidson, Former President and Chief Executive Officer of the Gannett Outdoor and a current member of Magink's Media Network Team.

"This is a milestone deal for Magink, that we are sure will yield tremendous benefit in the future".

To date, Magink has contracted with both JC Decaux and Clear Channel, the two largest outdoor advertising companies in the world, to deploy digital ink billboards at the 59th Annual Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France, and in prime locations throughout London, UK, respectively.

In Cannes, Magink billboards were installed at multiple highly trafficked venues including one located adjacent to the Palais des Festivals, the official home of the Cannes Film Festival, and featured an array of advertisements, as well as information about the City of Cannes.

Clear Channel Outdoor also deployed digital ink billboards throughout highly-trafficked areas in London including notoriously congested areas where advertisers benefit from dwell time and heavy vehicular traffic flow throughout the day.

Magink billboards are scheduled to make their debut in the USA by the second half of 2007.
