ZigBee modules are RoHS compliant
MaxStream's XBee and XBee-Pro OEM RF ZigBee modules are now compliant with international RoHS compliance standards
In accordance with the directive for the Restriction of Hazardous Substances, MaxStream has achieved compliance with its popular XBee product family. MaxStream expects to implement across-the-board compliance with all its electronic components, including all 900MHz and 2.4GHz OEM RF modules before the July deadline.

'We are committed to leading the way in providing reliable and easy-to-use RF products that meet the strict environmental RoHS standards', said David Steed, Vice President of Engineering at MaxStream.
'By eliminating these hazardous materials we expect to see an increased surge in sales to Europe and other international locations that will soon require products meeting these specifications'.
The RoHS Directive was established by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union, requiring that electronics manufacturers not exceed new minimum acceptable levels of the following hazardous substances: lead, hexavalent chromium, mercury, polybrominated biphenyl, cadmium and polybrominated diphenyl ether.
RoHS compliant XBee and XBee-Pro OEM RF modules will be available for shipping in the middle of May.
