RGB LED features a 20-degree viewing angle in a 5.0mm round lensed package that is perfect for use in accent and colour-changing lighting applications.

Marktech Optoelectronics announced the availability of its versatile LC503NPP-20H-A3, four-lead, RGB solid-state light source from Cotco.

This RGB LED features a 20-degree viewing angle in a 5.0mm round lensed package that is perfect for use in accent and colour-changing lighting applications.

The combination of high light output, low power consumption and high-reliability materials means that these LEDs are a great choice for colour changing applications.

The LED also features a close chip density and brightness for excellent colour mixing.

Its 4-pin package allows for individual control of each red, green and blue chip.

This creates an opportunity for users to produce a complete colour spectrum to better achieve specific and more uniform lighting architecture.

By allowing individual control of each chip along with the LEDs improved efficiencies and output, designers can save additional power usage on their total lighting system to decrease overall operating costs.

Colour-changing light applications use RGB LEDs to create light fixtures that can be tuned to a specific colour.

These multicoloured fixtures have a number of uses including event lighting, architectural accent lighting, mood lighting, and artistic installations.

Additional applications for this RGB LED include multicolour backlighting, light pipes, full colour signboards, decorative lighting, general indicators and amusement equipment.

Pricing for the LC503NPP-20H-A3 is US $0.55 in 10,000-unit lots with free samples currently available.
