Cores offer tailored performance
Chang Sung Corporation of Korea manufactures many types of soft magnetic powder cores using molybdenum permalloy (MPP), high flux, Sendust and the new CK core materials
These cores are mainly used for inductors and transformers requiring the low losses and inductance stability under high DC bias conditions. Fully standardised production under strict quality control from raw materials (nickel, iron, molybdenum, aluminium and silicon) to finished products enables CSC to reduce the variations in product quality making it possible to maintain a guaranteed quality level.

Relay range adds low-voltage coil option
Teledyne has added a 3V DC coil to its 172 series of electromechanical relays to meet customer demand for the additional operating voltage
The latest development is the new CK core range (Fe-Si alloy).
Outstanding performances like a saturation rating of 1.6T, high energy storage capacity, low core losses compared with Fe-Si laminations and low relative cost make the CK material a viable alternative for designing output chokes, line filters, PFC reactors and flyback transformers.
Powder cores are distributed-airgap cores made from ferrous alloy powders for low losses at high frequencies.

The A152 ultraminiature broadband attenuator relay is designed for use in 50 and 75ohm systems in the DC to 5.0GHz frequency range
Small airgaps distributed evenly throughout the cores increase the amount of DC that can be passed though the winding before core saturation occurs.
Molybdenum permalloy powder (MPP) cores are excellent as low loss inductors for switch-mode power supplies, switching regulators and noise filters.
High flux and Sendust powder cores are better choice for the power factor correction (PFC), switching regulator inductors, inline noise filters, pulse and flyback transformers, and many other application required for low losses at high frequencies.
All Chang Sung cores are available from MRC Components.
