Streamline takes Monterey to Russia
The entire Monterey product line including the Dolphin RTL second generation RTL-to-GDSII solution is now available in Russia following a distribution agreement with Streamline Design Solutions
"There is increasing demand here in Russia for a complete RTL-to-GDSII product", said Johnny Thunborg, President and CEO of Streamline Design. "Dolphin RTL is the most advanced, fastest, highest capacity RTL-to-GDSII product available and the ideal choice to complement our product line". Dolphin RTL combines the RTL reader and logic structure generation technology from Synplicity with comprehensive physical synthesis capabilities from Monterey into a unified solution.

Record quarter for Monterey
Monterey Design Systems has closed a record quarter as a result of expanded orders from existing customers and the addition of several new accounts
It uses Synplify ASIC technology to quickly generate an initial logic structure independent of wire loads and then performs technology mapping and logic optimisation using patented Monterey Progressive Multi-objective Refinement (PMR) technology to meet timing, area, power, and signal integrity design constraints.
In addition to Dolphin RTL, Streamline Design will distribute the Monterey IC Wizard hierarchical design planner, Sonar physical synthesis and prototyping tool, and Dolphin physical implementation system.
When combined with the hierarchical capabilities of IC Wizard and the prototyping functionality of Sonar, Dolphin RTL is capable of handling designs upwards of 100 million gates.

"Streamline Design has an excellent track record of successfully selling EDA tools and a reputation for professionalism and technical expertise", said Maria Adolf, vice president of European operations at Monterey.
"Those things coupled with their existing distribution agreement with Synplicity made them the natural choice as the distributor for Monterey products".
Dolphin RTL will be available in Russia starting in January 2003.
