Compact modular jacks
allow stackability and speed
Category 5e compact modular jacks from Molex provide a lower profile than the standard modjack for maximum PCB stackability in one-, two- and four-port variations
Applications for these modular jacks include networking equipment such as hubs, routers and switches. They also meet Gigabit Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Ethernet speeds while conforming to Compact PCI, Eurocard and Common Mezzanine Card standards. The modjacks measure 9.43mm from the top of the PCB to the top of the jack allowing for optimal board stacking.

Fibre interconnect system boosts data density
Interconnect system complies with the next generation SFF 8431 specification and reaches 10Gbit/s speeds using the same port space as a standard SFP system
This is accomplished by allowing the bottom of the modjack to sit flush with the bottom of the PCB, while adhering to the 2mm creepage and clearance specification.
The reduction in crosstalk means the RJ-45 configuration provides Category 5e performance for gigabit Ethernet applications with near-end crosstalk loss greater than 43dB at 100MHz.
Enhanced panel grounding metal tabs on shielded versions offer superior ground path to the panel or metal bezel for maximum shielding performance.
Internal grounding tabs complete the circuit to ground for shielded cable and plug applications.
Three shield options are available: standard, with enhanced grounding tabs and bezel ground tabs.
With an operating temperature of -40 to +85C, the devices are available in through-hole styles for wave soldering or high-temperature reflow soldering.
All are UL and CSA approved.
