Field replaceable connectors cut interference
Molex has launched a range of SMA field replaceable connectors to offer high performance and low loss on a wide operating frequency range
Molex has launched a range of SMA field replaceable connectors to offer high performance and low loss on a wide operating frequency range (DC to 27GHz), for hermetic and nonhermetic applications, including microwave devices (amplifiers, transmitter/receiver, filters, oscillators), test equipment and telecommunications equipment.

Discrete wire connectors put safety first
1.27mm discrete wire connectors comply fully with the stringent glow wire requirements of IEC60335
Available in various flange configurations, these products are easy to mount on industry standard packages.
Stainless-steel and passivated, the connectors have Teflon insulators and beryllium copper contacts that are plated gold.
These connectors also include substantial vibration, shock and thermal features adhering to MIL standards.
The design has a raised boss at the flange end of the connector that provides an EMI/RFI gasket to reduce leakage.
The raised boss also provides optimal control in which contact is made between the connector flange and the package.
This additional control minimises impedance variations with a rating of 50ohm at the connection.
The full line of SMA connectors offers flexibility for field replacement to stripline and microstrip circuitry.
The connector, not an integral part of the package, allows easy replacement by simply removing the mounting screws with a screwdriver.
Due to the low loss characteristics, these connectors have also found application as high performance vertical PCB connectors for applications up to 18GHz.
Information on the transition design can be provided on request.
Additional accessories can be provided, including hermetic seals, launch pins and dielectric insulators, pins with tabs and pins with tabs and dielectric insulators.
Molex SMA field replaceable connectors are designed and produced with controlled manufacturing processes that ensure performance replication from connector to connector.
