Targa Systems, a division of L-3 Communications, which is accelerating its leadership in providing solid-state data storage solutions for military and aerospace applications has now come up with the 64Gbyte capacity removable disk and will be releasing the 128Gbyte version soon. The Series 4 DTU product line incorporates a 2.5in removable disk and provides for true 2.5in disk removability in harsh and rugged military and aerospace applications.
Targa Series 4 Removable Disk System is the perfect network attached storage (NAS) device for military and aerospace systems, replacing server attached storage in most airborne platform application systems.
These systems include flight management, cockpit instrument display, terrain awareness and warning, map systems, radar systems, cockpit/ground communications, navigation positioning, and satellite communications.
The removable disk feature of the Series 4 product line allows easy updating of files.
The Targa Series 4 DTS meets MIL-STD-810 and RTCA DO-160 environmental standards and transfers data at 18Mbyte/s.
It fulfils requirements of military and aerospace applications, such as map displays, imaging, and mission loads.
The Series 4 DTU product is available in a Dzus rail panel mount (CDU style) form factor unit with either 28 or 5V DC power input.
Both single and dual disk versions are available.
Additionally, it is available with a multitude of interfaces, including SCSI-2 and SCSI-3, USB and Ethernet along with a hard mount version.
