Micrel expands ECL Pro logic family
Three new ultra-high-speed devices have been added to Micrel Semiconductor's growing portfolio of communications solutions in the company's proprietary ECL Pro logic family.
"The new MICRF112 reinforces our market position as the leader in subgigahertz CMOS RF arena by featuring the highest integration, lowest external components and easiest possible use".
"In fact, the MICRF112 is now the highest performing, lowest operating battery voltage solution on the market today".
The MICRF112 requires just nine components, including antenna, to implement.
It features high transmit power with efficient current consumption of + 10dBm output, 3V, 6.7mA, CW.
This allows designers to choose a small form factor antenna while operating near the maximum limit as set forth by the FCC.
The IC also is extremely current efficient thereby enabling the longest possible battery life while transmitting at maximum power.
The device also offers an operating voltage range of 1.8 to 3.6V and a low standby current of 50nA (typical), further prolonging battery life.
Other features include robust operating temperature of -40 to +125C, making the solution ideal for demanding temperature requirements such as those necessary in the automotive arena.
The MICRF112 is offered in a 10-pin MSOP package option.
Finally, the MICRF112 can be configured as either a ASK or FSK transmitter which also makes the solution perfect for both remote actuation and low datarate telemetry applications.
The MICRF112, with its world class performance, and reliable, easy-to-implement design, is particularly suited for the explosive remote actuation market including garage door openers, security gates, MP3 remote control, remote actuation for lighting, power switches, windows and blinds, remote keyless entry, car and security alarms, high-end toys, remote water sprinkler systems, moisture sensors, temperature sensors, TV/multimedia entertainment systems and tyre pressure monitoring systems.
