Toroids made from the nanocrystalline material Nanoperm are finding increasing use in modern power electronics.

Toroids made from the nanocrystalline material Nanoperm are finding increasing use in modern power electronics.

Their extremely high permeability and high flux density means that they offer (for example) maximum attenuation levels within a minimum component size.

Furthermore, a special version of the product is now available that can withstand operating temperatures up to 180C and is extremely robust.

Very large round or oval cores are available for use in the megawatt range with dimensions of 300mm and more.

This superior magnetic material is used most frequently in suppressing EMI, in a wide range of applications.

These include filters for frequency convertors in all power classes and a large number of applications in industrial power electronics, telecommunications and (increasingly) in motor vehicle onboard networks.

More and more convertor output filters designed to reduce damaging motor bearing currents are now being fitted with such cores.
