New technologies drive Mobitex development
A series of significant technology and market announcements are expected from members of the Mobitex Association at its International Business and Networking Conference in Gothenburg, Sweden.

A series of significant technology and market announcements are expected from members of the Mobitex Association at its International Business and Networking Conference in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 20th to 22nd September 2004. The announcements, which plot a clear future path for this robust wireless data system, will span the whole range of technology from semiconductor components, to infrastructure equipment, software and services. UK based CML Microcircuits will announce availability and full details of a new Mobitex chip which is expected to enable cost effective deployment of Mobitex into a wider range of high volume markets such as asset tracking, vending machines, meter reading and alarm monitoring.
Australian based Wavenet will be debuting its new 400/800MHz Mobitex modem which will extend the availability of their proven technology to all Mobitex markets worldwide.
Mobitex Technology from Sweden will launch the BRU14, a new compact Mobitex basestation and MSN, a small Mobitex switch, which are both optimised for use in small networks.
Together they will provide a new cost effective offering for deploying small private networks.
The annual Mobitex Association business and networking conference provides Mobitex network operators, software developers, hardware manufacturers and customers the opportunity to discuss face-to-face, the exciting new developments in both hardware and software technology for the Mobitex market.
Information and support will be available to association members and associates, along with presentation papers covering all aspects of Mobitex globally as a technology, presented by association members such as Mobitex Technology, BT/Transcomm, Technisyst, Cingular, Wavenet, RAM Mobile Data, Mowic, RATP and CML Microcircuits.
The agenda for the Mobitex conference comprises in-depth presentations of real case studies of situations around the world, which demonstrate the clear strengths in Mobitex mobile data solutions for professional users.
It will be divided into four major blocks focusing on strategies, Mobitex for governments and emergency users, local government solutions and machine-to-machine communications.
The conference organiser expects that 90 participants from 20 countries will participate in the conference.
