Fujitsu signs for MAC core
Mentor Graphics Corp has licensed its A-XGMAC 10 Gigabit Ethernet media access controller (MAC) to Fujitsu Laboratories of America (FLA)
Mentor Graphics is a leading provider of communications intellectual property (IP), and its Ethernet MAC products are the building blocks for SoC designs used in today's highly integrated communications and networking systems. 10 gigabit Ethernet technology enables the high data-transfer rates, up to 10Gbit/s, required for bandwidth-intensive broadband allocations.

Recently, Fujitsu Microelectronics America and Fujitsu Laboratories of America announced the industry's first single-chip 10Gbit/s Ethernet switch IC, which enables designers to develop compact and cost-effective switches that deliver maximum performance.

The Mentor Graphics 10Gbit/s Ethernet MAC enables enhanced functionality for this switch IC, performing quality packet transmission and reception.
The Ethernet MAC supports the IEEE802.3ae standard and includes test benches to ensure correct operation when run on different simulator software and platforms for quality assurance.
