Mentor Graphics expects fourth quarter 2001 earnings before goodwill and charges to exceed First Call consensus estimates of $0.42

Revenues are expected to be in the $165 million range, consistent with that consensus. The company expects one-time charges in the quarter of approximately $45 million, mostly non-cash charges relating to goodwill writeoffs. The company plans to report its final results for the fourth fiscal quarter and year 2001 after the close of market on 24th January 2002.
