Maxim Integrated Products has introduced the MAX15032, constant-frequency, pulse-width modulated (PWM), low-noise step-up converter.

Designed for low-voltage systems that require a locally generated high-voltage output, this device integrates a high-voltage DMOS power switch, allowing it to boost the output up to 36V and deliver 600mW (max) of power.

Additionally, it employs an internal charge-pump circuit to enable low-voltage operation from 2.7V to 11V.

The MAX15032 is suitable for applications such as avalanche-photodiode, PIN-diode and varactor-diode biasing.

It is also suitable for set-top box audio IC supplies and LCD displays.

The MAX15032 utilises a current-mode PWM architecture that switches at a constant 500kHz frequency to ease filtering requirements.

A shutdown input allows for low power consumption.

Available in a 3mm x 3mm, 8-pin TDFN package, the MAX15032 is fully specified over the -40C to +125C automotive temperature range.
