The MAX8614 is the industry's smallest dual-output step-up DC/DC convertor to generate voltage outputs up to +24V positive and -10V negative with 100mA output current.

Maxim Integrated Products has unveiled the MAX8614, the industry's smallest dual-output step-up DC/DC convertor to generate voltage outputs up to +24V positive and -10V negative with 100mA output current The MAX8614 output is adjustable with external resistors for applications in digital still cameras (DSC), cellphone cameras, and OLED display power

Several integrated capabilities make this part especially flexible and easy to design-in.

The MAX8614's controlled in-rush current saves battery life, and the pin-selectable CCD power-up sequencing eliminates external timing circuits.

The MAX8614 comes in a small 3 x 3mm, 14-pin TDFN package, 43% smaller than the competition's 4 x 4mm solution.

Other MAX8614 competitive advantages include True Shutdown without an external FET and internal compensation capacitors.

The device operates with 4.7 microfarad output capacitors, compared with the competition's 22uF.

High-efficiency, high-voltage internal N- and P-channel transistors, coupled with 1MHz fixed-frequency PWM operation, provide a low-noise solution that saves battery life and space.

These many advantages make the MAX8614 the smallest and most cost-effective DC/DC convertor solution in the market.

The MAX8614 is screened for the extended industrial temperature range (-40 to +85C).

Prices start at $2.00 (1000-up, FOB USA).

An evaluation kit is available to speed designs and time to market.
