The MAX1947 is heralded as the smallest one-cell/two-cell input step-up DC/DC convertor on the market.

The MAX1947 is heralded as the smallest one-cell/two-cell input step-up DC/DC convertor on the market Its 2MHz switching, current-mode control reduces component size, achieves over 94% efficiency, and gives fast transient responses

It integrates all switches (power switch, synchronous rectifier, and reverse current blocker) allowing for use in size-constrained hand-held equipment.

It also features True Shutdown, which allows the load to be discharged and disconnected from the battery during shutdown to maximise battery life.

The MAX1947 accepts low inputs (0.7V) and delivers low outputs (1.8V).

It offers fixed output options that eliminate an external feedback network, further reducing the component count.

Its automatic pulse-skipping at light loads extends battery life.

The MAX1947 is available in a space-saving 3 x 3mm 8-pin thin DFN package screened for the extended temperature range (-40 to +85C).

Prices start at $1.55 (1000-up, FOB USA).

The MAX1947EVKIT evaluation kit is available to speed designs.
