KPIT Cummins Infosystems, one of India's leading players in the IC design arena, has adopted Magma's integrated IC design flow including Blast Plan Pro, Blast Noise and Blast Fusion. The deployment of Magma's next-generation software has already enabled KPIT Cummins to achieve significant improvements in time to silicon and development costs, while meeting power and area requirements. 'As IC design continues to push past the subnanometre frontier, it becomes increasingly critical to have a design flow that reduces design time and costs while meeting specified requirements and allowing achievement of the desired quality of results (QoR)', said Praveen Acharya, Vice President, VLSI, KPIT Cummins.

'As a VLSI design services provider, we are always striving to deliver the high productivity with QoR that differentiates us in the minds of our customers'.

'The adoption of Magma's tightly integrated IC design flow has further strengthened our services portfolio for our key customers'.

'The adoption of Magma's integrated IC design flow by a well-known VLSI design services provider such as KPIT Cummins demonstrates the value of Magma's products in today's market', said Atreya Nagaraja of Magma's India operations.

Blast Plan Pro, Blast Noise and Blast Fusion are key components of Magma's integrated design flow.

The high-capacity hierarchical design planning and prototyping capabilities in Blast Plan Pro enable designers to minimise the cycle time for top-level analysis and optimisation on large and complex designs.

Blast Plan Pro leverages Magma's unique GlassBox modelling technology to retain the relevant timing information in each block, allowing full optimisation with minimal data.

Blast Fusion is a fast physical design system for advanced methodologies and nanometre process technologies.

It provides advanced analysis and optimisation capabilities for designing high-performance, low-power designs.

Blast Fusion enables rapid design closure, taking into account new nanometre design challenges such as OCV.

Blast Noise is Magma's complete integrated signal integrity analysis and prevention solution.

Blast Noise works concurrently with Blast Fusion throughout the implementation flow to automatically analyse and adjust a chip design to avoid crosstalk noise, crosstalk delay and signal electro migration (EM) problems.

By automatically addressing these problems during physical design, Blast Noise eliminates the need for cumbersome post-layout analysis and repair, and ensures working silicon.
