LynuxWorks has announced the twin appointments of Gurjot Singh to Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Mark Baker to Vice President of Sales

LynuxWorks has appointed Gurjot Singh as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Mark Baker as Vice President of Sales. Gurjot Singh will assume the title of COO as well as remain in his current position as Vice President of Engineering. In his new role of COO, Singh will be responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of LynuxWorks' business operations to drive the company to meet its dynamic business objectives.

In addition, Singh will continue to be involved with post-sales support, including training and consulting, manufacturing, and quality assurance.

For more than 14 years at LynuxWorks, Singh has played a strategic role in advancing LynuxWorks as a pioneer in the embedded software industry, including creating LynuxWorks' services organisation which has grown to provide half of the company's total revenue.

In addition, Singh has also been instrumental in establishing LynuxWorks' quality management system to achieve ISO9001 and DO-178B compliance.

Mark Baker joins LynuxWorks' distinguished executive management team as Vice President of Sales.

Baker brings to LynuxWorks more than 20 years of experience in sales management within the embedded systems market.

In his new position, Baker will be responsible for leading the sales team to achieve aggressive sales growth and play a key role in connecting customer technology and business requirements with the LynuxWorks' strategy.

Previously, Baker was Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Wasabi Systems where he assembled and led a global sales organisation which resulted in the company's first customer design wins.

Prior to that, Baker was Vice President of Strategic Accounts for Wind River where he drove sales revenues and account strategies for the company's 30 largest accounts.

Baker was also the Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Motorola Computer Group where he led a worldwide organisation of 275 employees and revenues of more than $750 million.

'Over the last six months, we have achieved significant momentum in the embedded software market', said Dr Inder Singh, CEO and Chairman of LynuxWorks.

'Gurjot and Mark bring to LynuxWorks a wealth of exceptional qualifications and experience that positions us to take advantage of this tremendous growth opportunity'.

'Furthermore, with our recent selection by General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems for the US Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) programme's Integrated Computer System (ICS), we are poised for continued success in 2005 and beyond'.

'I have the utmost confidence that Gurjot and Mark will further accelerate our leadership position in the marketplace'.
