LynuxWorks has revealed that Hamid Mirab has been appointed as Managing Director for Europe

Mirab joins LynuxWorks from a consultancy specialising in business development for technology startups. His extensive experience in the embedded computing sector spans 16 years, and includes serving as Vice President, EMEA, for Lineo and Vice President of European Operations for Integrated Systems (Wind River) as well as senior positions for Insignia and B-Tree (TestQuest).

'Hamid's knowledge of the embedded systems market in EMEA and his excellent contacts within our customer community made him a natural choice to head our European team', said Dr Inder Singh, CEO and Chairman of LynuxWorks.

'I am very pleased to be joining the LynuxWorks team, and am looking forward to expanding our business in EMEA', said Mirab.

'I am particularly excited by our ability to address a number of high growth markets requiring reliable, secure, and supported embedded software'.

'The breadth of the LynuxWorks product range and the depth of experience in the team here mean that we are uniquely well positioned to serve the full range of applications'.

'I plan to build solid relationships with our customers to create revenue-generating opportunities across these various market sectors'.

Mirab has successfully completed the Stanford Executive Programme, holds a PhD in computer control systems and a bachelors degree in engineering both from Glasgow University.

Mirab replaces Gerry Winkler as European Managing Director, who after 5 years in Europe is returning to LynuxWorks in the USA.
