Neodymium doped gadolinium orthovanadate single crystal diode pumped lasers are now available from Laser Components

Neodymium doped gadolinium orthovanadate single crystal (Nd:GdVO4) is an excellent laser crystal for diode pumped lasers. Similar to the Nd:YVO4 crystals, Nd:GdVO4 also exhibits high gain. As well as this the crystal boasts low threshold, high absorption coefficients at pumping wavelengths. The Nd:YVO4 also has a much higher thermal conductivity.

It will replace the Nd:YVO4 in high power laser application in the future.

The following are the advantages associated with the Nd:GdVO4.

The crystal has low lasing threshold and high slope efficiency.

High absorption coefficients can be achieved at pumping wavelengths.

There is a low dependency on pump wavelength and large stimulated emission cross-section at laser wavelength.

The Nd:YVO4 crystal exhibits good thermal conductivity and has strongly polarised laser output and a high laser induced damage threshold.
