Convertor claims half the power
consumption

The LTC1867L is a 16bit, eight-channel, 175Ksample/s, 3V supply analogue to digital convertor, offering low power without compromising speed or linearity.

Linear Technology has introduced the LTC1867L, a 16bit, eight-channel, 175Ksample/s, 3V supply analogue to digital convertor, offering low power without compromising speed or linearity The LTC1867L draws only 2.7mW at full speed - roughly one-half the power of competing devices

The power automatically drops at reduced speeds, typically 0.9mW at 50Ksample/s.

This device maintains excellent DC performance providing 16bit no missing codes over temperature and +/-3LSB maximum integral nonlinearity.

The LTC1867L is ideal for low power applications such as portable instrumentation, industrial process control and medical applications.

The LTC1867L offers an easy to use multiplexer and serial interface.

The multiplexer allows any combination of single-ended inputs or differential inputs in either unipolar (0 to 2.5V) mode or bipolar (+/-1.25V) mode.

The accuracy of the ADC is independent of the shift clock frequency, allowing these parts to operate in optoisolation or very low power applications.

The device is also available in a 12bit version, the LTC1863L.

Both are available in pin compatible 5V supply versions (LTC1867/LTC1863) and narrow SSOP-16 packages, providing a pin-compatible family for performance/cost optimisation in the end product.

The LTC1867L/LTC1863L are available in the commercial and industrial temperature ranges.

Pricing begins at $7.75 each for the LTC1867L and $3.85 each for the LTC1863L, both in 1000-piece quantities. Request a free brochure from Linear Technology Corp ...
