Luxeon I light output performance has been dramatically increased for all InGaN colours (white, blue, cyan, green and royal blue). Typical performance of Luxeon I white emitters has been improved from 31 to 45 lumens. Other colours have similar increases, all without increasing the package or chip size.

No other comparable high power LED offers more light than Luxeon I.

Increased performance can be attributed to Lumileds' continued technology leadership in epitaxial, packaging and 5 years experience manufacturing high power LEDs.

'We continue to advance and develop solid-state lighting technology that address the needs of a wide variety of markets', said Jason Posselt, Lumileds Director of Product Marketing.

'Our Luxeon I LEDs are broadly used in applications ranging from LCD television and monitors to architectural, entertainment and vehicle lighting'.

'Even as we release new and more powerful LEDs, we will continue to build on our Luxeon technology leadership and LED family'.

Prices for the improved Luxeon I LEDs remain unchanged and offer significantly more lumens per dollar representing an even better value.

Luxeon I LEDs are immediately available from Future Electronics in both Luxeon Emitter and Luxeon Star configurations.

Updated datasheets and technical information are also available via the Lumileds website.
